We are eight in all and most have French to at least university level. Meetings consist of a chat about what we have been doing during the preceding month or a book we could recommend - indeed anything we think might be of interest to the members.
After tea the monthly leader has prepared something to read, translate and discuss.This could be a newspaper article or perhaps something from the internet.
There are rarely any silences but the conversation never degenerates into a 'melee generale.' The group has been following this pattern for about thirteen years so I assume there are no complaints! Cheers.
